My friend and I shared a half order of clams and chips and the fish tacos. We also sampled the seafood chowder. Everything was delicious.
Really great people that own this place and sweetest server. Great food. Clams is to die for... I waited years to come back for clams and chips and this one was phenomal. Such juicy big ones and the fish so moist and yummy. Chips is goooooooood.
I really enjoy Rudy & Olive’s. Their fish is always fresh and flavorful, with a perfectly balanced batter—just thick enough. I usually pair it with the Newfie fries, which come topped with stuffing and gravy. Typically, the fish portions are generous, but on my last visit, the pieces were noticeably smaller—about half the usual size. The taste and quality were still excellent, but the portion inconsistency was a bit disappointing. I haven’t explored much else on the menu since the fish and chips are my go-to, but I’m eager to try other options, especially the toutons and other Newfoundland-inspired dishes.
Our first visit. A cute little, very friendly place. The owner greeted us and was super polite. We had lobster roll and seafood platter. All was yummy. The scallops weren’t overcooked and the clams weren’t gritty. Large portions. Gingerbread for dessert was a little sticky but overall tasty. Good value and very inviting atmosphere. Would definitely return.
This is cute family-own and family-run restaurant with a few tables inside and a few tables on the side patio. The owners are very nice and friendly and it was refreshing to experience good customer service in Halifax area. I came here for a lunch and ordered “Calamari” and “1 Piece Fish and Chips”. The food was good and I enjoyed my meal.

We stumbled upon this place after visiting Peggy’s Cove. It’s a place off the side of the road with gorgeous art on the front and we didn’t realize how good the food was going to be... so we ended coming 2 days in a row! We got the seafood platter, cheeseburger, seafood chowder, shrimp tacos, fish & chips, and calamari (over the 2 days) - everything was amazing. But the desserts had to be our favourite part. The coconut cream pie and sticky toffee pudding are some of the best we’ve ever had. 12/10 place!!
Ok, you may hate me for this but I ordered the High 5 Chicken Tenders and a poutine. Why? You may ask. Because I was craving fish and chip joint chicken tenders. That’s why. I called ahead my order, and promptly drove over. They had the order ready, lickity-split. Brought it home and it almost didn’t make it. The smell was undeniable, I knew what I had purchased. Gold. I’m fairly certain my place still smells of this wonderful stink. Clean plate club. Will be back. Need to actually try the fish.
